This was announced earlier today so you may have seen it. Mobile Greetings has agreed to merge with UpSnap. Not sure about this combination though, it’s Greeting Services merging with Meta Search Services? Perhaps they’re rowing towards a Mobile Portal, what do you think?
I’ll say this about UpSnap, they have one heck of an interesting advertising model that I’ve not seen yet. Their fee’s are structured like Television Ad airtime; charging by the second. UpSnap Advertising Rates are begin at $100-$1000 per 1,000 10-15 second spots. Not sure how that’s working out for them but their shares closed at $.27 today.
Update: I made a correction to the rates. The model is still the same but I had the pricing wrong.
