According to BuzzFeed, Twitter’s “Project Lightning” will soon be ready to see the light of day,
“The new tool will give the company a way to show the best of Twitter to both logged-in and logged-out users on a variety of platforms,” the report reads. “It will have instantly loading videos and rich images, and will occupy a front-and-center location in an upcoming version of the Twitter app.”
This is all part of Twitter’s ongoing efforts to make the microblogging platform more engaging and relevant to frequent users.
Project Lightning is designed to “bring event-based curated content to the Twitter platform.”
For instance, “on Twitter’s mobile app, there will be a new button in the center of the home row,” BuzzFeed explains, adding that a push of the button will take users to a different screen showcasing ongoing events and other current happenings in real-time.
Project Lightning will launch within a few months, we’re told.
