The popularity of new media means nothing to old-guard marketers if they can’t get specific numbers on the success of an ad (or TV show or song, for that matter). It’s even less likely to grab the attention of small- to medium-sized businesses with limited marketing budgets. But mobile has long proved itself a strong ROI tool; for example, opt-in text message marketing solutions let companies see exactly who and how many customers responded to a sale or discount campaign. Now the Boise, Idaho-based Indiplex Media, a social media marketing solutions provider, offers Connexsus Rewards, which lets SMBs target customers through rewards program memberships and unique customer offers for mobile users.
“Traditional approaches to rewards marketing don’t effectively enable complete tracking and measurement of rewards against actual purchase behavior,” Dion Eusepi, owner of Indiplex Media. “The ability to do this and reach mobile and web users strategically and affordably can really empower small businesses.”
Connexsus Rewards also allows campaigns to become viral by allowing rewards program users to forward gift special offers and cash value cards to other member users–directly from their smartphones. That takes advantage of the mobile platform’s sense of immediacy–senders can act right away on the impulse that “so-and-so would like this,” and the recipient gets an interesting sales offer sent right into her or his pocket.
The solution works on all major smartphones–Apple, Blackberry, and Android included. Thus it’s more forward-thinking than apps that only support one group of fanboy/fangirl consumers. It’s also got me wondering how many SMBs out there have already deployed mobile sales campaigns. I’d like to hear from those smaller businesses: How successful were you? What type of campaign did you use? Does this solution, or anything similar, appeal to you?
