Verizon Recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

The nation’s largest wireless carrier is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

Verizon Wireless announced this week that it is launching the “Dia de tus Suenos” or “Day of Your Dreams” contest. The purpose of the effort is to celebrate the history, contributions and culture of Hispanics across the nation.

Through October 15, Latinos can register once a day to win the Day of Your Dreams experience, which includes spending five hours with a nationally-recognized Hispanic celebrity or influencer such as telenovela star Gaby Espino, Indy Car driver Helio Castroneves or Chef Ingrid Hoffman.

Verizon says that Winners also will receive $1,000 and a Verizon Wireless 4G LTE tablet.

“Hispanic heritage plays a very significant role in our communities and it’s important that we continue to promote the influence and success of Latinos across the country,” said Jonathan LeCompte, president – Georgia/Alabama region, Verizon Wireless. “We also need to encourage and support the bold aspirations of young Latinos as they determine what their influence will be.”

The search for entries is now underway for Latinos age 18 and older, who may register online or at their local Verizon Wireless retail store.
