We’re starting to see several apps emerge that solve the problem of so-called “checkin-fatigue,” but many lack integration of a wide-variety of networks and don’t aggregate the additional data that users expect, like nearby rewards and accomplishments like badges, points, and so on.
Footfeed, an iPhone app that recently released its 2.0 version, does just that — it brings together the most popular location-based social networks in addition to aggregating nearby rewards and promotions into a well-polished interface. The app currently supports Gowalla, Foursquare, Brightkite, Latitude, Facebook and Twitter, and introduces users to 4 sections upon opening the app.
The first is a section dedicated to nearby checkin-deals and rewards, followed by a section to show nearby tips and to-dos. You can also see your friends checkins in another section and stats in the final section. The latter is the most interesting, as it shows you all your current badges, points, stamps and more that you’ve accumulated using the variety of networks it supports. In all, the app is simple, straightforward and lightening fast to use. The app is available for free in the Apple App Store, so head on over and give it a try.
