This week, Impact Telecom – a sizable global provider of voice and data services – delved deeper into the SMS space with its most recent acquisition.
According to an update provided to MMW, the company is acquiring SMS solutions provider Citessentials for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, however, is expected to close quickly during the first quarter of this year.
Citessentials is billed as a provider of a proprietary SMS platform with a comprehensive messaging portal, enabling customers to access mobile messaging requirements from any computer with Internet connectivity, eliminating the need for downloads, installation, integration, or up-front development costs.
“Over the past two years Citessentials has shown exponential growth in the messaging services sector. With Citessentials’ feature-rich messaging platform, Impact greatly enhances its comprehensive residential, commercial and wholesale telecommunications product and services portfolio,” Bob Beaty, President and CEO of Impact Telecom, said in a provided statement.
“We expect the demand for messaging services will only increase as commercial and enterprise customers expand their use of SMS as an inexpensive and dependable communications tool,” he added.
