Honda is about to start its engine for the future of connected car technology.
Although the well-known automaker has already previously announced plans to support connected car technologies, 2016 could finally result in some serious action to back up those pledges.
This week, for example, Honda confirmed that its 2016 Civic will support CarPlay.
“Apple CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your car’s built-in display,” Honda said in a news release, boasting about Apple’s technology. “You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music right from the touchscreen or by voice via Siri. Supported apps include Phone, Messages, Maps, Music and compatible third party apps.”
Upon its release, the 2016 Civic Sedan will also be available with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies.
