Just as Apple prepares to unveil iOS 9 today for the kick-off of WWDC 2015, comScore is out with a new report pointing to the growing smartphone market share enjoyed by iOS in the U.S.
A global leader in digital media analytics, comScore says that in April 2015, Apple ranked as the top smartphone manufacturer with 43.1 percent OEM market share.
Android still led as the #1 smartphone platform with 52.2 percent platform market share, but that’s down from the 53.2% share Android enjoyed in January. Apple’s share, meanwhile, climbed to 43.1 in April, which is up from 41.3% in January.
188.6 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones (76.9 percent mobile market penetration) during the three months ending in April.
