Yes, It’s True: Verizon Confirms Company Considering Bid for Yahoo

Yahoo_400x400Less than a year after it agreed to acquire AOL for $4.4 billion, telecommunications giant Verizon is weighing a bid to acquire Yahoo.

That was confirmed by CEO Lowell McAdam during an interview with CNBC’s “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer late last week.

“Publicly traded Yahoo’s shares closed down 4.05 percent at $27.97 on Friday and were down 1.39 percent in pre-market trading early Monday morning,” reports MediaPost.

Currently one of the largest digital publishers, acquisition of Yahoo would make Verizon the Internet’s biggest publisher by a wide margin.

Things are getting crazier in the marketplace as firms jockey for position and dominance. Verizon is obviously looking to capture as many avenues as possible to build on its vision of being mobile content king.

Can you hear me now? Yes, we can, Verizon. We definitely can.
