A new report is out from comScore, Inc., a global leader in digital media analytics.
Data from comScore research arms MobiLens and Mobile Metrix just documented the key trends in the U.S. smartphone industry for May, 2015.
So, what do we know? First of all, Apple ranked as the top smartphone manufacturer with 43.5 percent OEM market share, while Google Android led as the number one smartphone platform with 52.1 percent platform market share.
No surprise here: Facebook ranked as the top individual smartphone app.
While the comScore report showed Facebook as the top app — with 70.2 of the app audience — other contenders include YouTube (59.1 percent), Facebook Messenger (52.4 percent), and Google Play (52.1 percent).
Next on the list are Google Search (51.8 percent), Google Maps (49.1 percent), Pandora Radio (44 percent), Gmail (43 percent), Instagram (36.6 percent), Apple Maps (27.2 percent), iTunes Radio/iCloud (26 percent), Amazon Mobile (25.9 percent), Twitter (24.9 percent), Google+ (23.1 percent), and Pinterest (22.4 percent).
