'AOL On' Lands on Apple TV

'AOL On' Lands on Apple TVOn Tuesday morning, Apple TV owners gained four new additions to the streaming line-up on their set-top box.

Freshly added to the platform are ABC News, PBS Kids, Willow, and – most significantly – AOL On.

AOL On is a network that delivers nearly one million videos to Apple TV. Despite the fact that most of the clips are short (the majority of vids are derived from an array of AOL properties like Huffington Post, TechCrunch, etc.) the content is still rich and of value to many viewers.

ESPN and even The New York Times are also providing content – more lengthy pieces, we’re told – to AOL On.

Although Apple TV is being lauded for the new additions, the company didn’t necessarily do anything too terribly innovative by adding AOL On to the mix. Prior to Apple TV, AOL On was already available on Roku, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, and Amazon Fire TV, to name a few.
