New 3D touch technology, which adds pressure sensitivity to screen interactions on mobile, could be a welcome treat for consumers.
Now Adello, a media buying platform with offices in Europe, North America, and Asia, is the first mobile adtech company to integrate 3D Touch for all mobile creative ad units.
Apple’s iPhone 6s were the smartphones that introduced the 3D touch dimension. The tech allows users to “Peek and Pop” content. In addition, users receive distinct tactical feedback in response.
“The 3D Touch creates a unique experience for users that can be applied to advertising,” explains the company in a release shared with MMW. “Marketers can now touch their customers on a different level. They are able to launch creatives that incorporate a two-way communication. Mobile users can push on ads to zoom in and peek at interesting or hidden pictures, coupons, or messages. Users can also press on ads in order to pop open pictures, videos, or links.”
Adello is pushing the idea that ads composed solely of words and pictures are outmoded. User interaction — and the tracking options that provides — is the wave of the future.
“While technology is important, understanding human interaction is even more so,” notes the company. “Adello has always been vocal about combining creative, meaningful interactions with data and data science. With the launch of Adello’s 3D Touch-enabled creative, consumers can choose to interact more deeply with mobile ads.”
