In the short time it has been available, Apple’s upstart mobile payments platform has been gaining popularity across the U.S. But soon, Apple Pay could make its way across the pond and into some of Europe’s leading financial institutions.
According to the U.K. Telegraph, Apple Pay will likely launch on European soil in 2015.
“Apple has been encouraged enough to press ahead with plans to roll the system out across the world,” Monday’s report divulges.
The writing, however, has been on the wall for quite some time. In recent weeks, Apple has even advertised a job opening that made mention of Apple Pay with a description lauding the platform as a “new and exciting area in Apple that is set to expand across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.”
As of press time, Apple is still silent on plans for Apple Pay in the U.K. But we all know it’s coming. And soon.
