Former Apple Retail Boss Wants to Reinvent eCommerce

Former Apple Retail Boss Wants to Reinvent eCommerceRon Johnson left Apple as the company’s head of retail in 2011 to become CEO of J.C. Penney.

Unfortunately, Johnson’s stint did not prove to be the rousing success the retail giant needed and expected.

But Johnson is ready to roar back after last year’s ouster at J.C. Penney.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Johnson is gearing up to launch a new startup that could change the face of eCommerce as we know it.

Johnson’s new venture is “a well-funded startup that aims to bring some of the Apple Store mystique to online shopping.”

The new company is called Enjoy, and Mr. Johnson says its goal is to change the way people buy and use the “things that matter” in a world in which consumers start their shopping online.

At present, few other details are known. But Johnson says Enjoy will go live sometime next year.
