According to VRJournal, Sony is planning to hold a PlayStation VR press event on March 15th. In short, it’s the moment that the gaming world has been waiting for.
Press invites are on the way, the report notes. The event is planned for the city of San Francisco.
“The most important details that Sony keeps mum about are the price and the launch date of its virtual reality gadget,” says Horia Ungureanu of the Tech Times. “However, insiders hinted that fans could expect to see the PlayStation VR launch in the first six months of 2016.”
Not surprisingly, Sony is eager to get into the VR business as quickly as possible, particularly with major players in virtual reality headgear like HTC Vive and Oculus Rift poised to reach consumers next month.
“Sony will showcase the device at its Game Developers Conference event,” Ungureanu says. “Visitors will be able to witness the unveiling at 2:00 p.m. PST, after which a few hours of demos will ensue.”
