On the heels of its iPhone 5 announcement yesterday, Apple has also released iTunes 10.7 with support for iOS 6, the forthcoming mobile operating system refresh that will make the most of Apple’s next-generation iPhone.
Before the big iTunes overhaul we’ve been promised for October, iTunes 10.7 is now available to download from Apple’s official website. For the time being, it adds support for current devices that will be upgraded to iOS 6.
iOS 6 will become publicly available next Wednesday, September 19. It will be available for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2, and 4th-generation iPod touch.
Based on what we learned during Apple’s keynote on Wednesday, the revamped iTunes we’ve been promised for October will feature a grid-driven interface for easier navigation navigate, improved integration with iCloud, and cross-device syncing of playback information (on films being watched).
