New data from ad buying platform and mobile DSP Adfonic shows that Apple’s iOS accounted for 63% of all global impressions during Q3 of 2013.
Overall, that’s a 3% jump over the previous quarter.
Additionally, worldwide ad impressions recorded from devices running iOS impressively doubled those from Android. This comes as further affirmation that there’s much higher web engagement from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users.
Not withstanding its much larger market share, Android fell 6% to finish the three-month period with a 32% ad impression share.
As expected, iOS and Android still dominate the mobile market, but BlackBerry is hanging tough in third place with a 3% ad impression share, followed by Windows Phone at 0.9% and Java at 0.8%.
But don’t feel bad for Microsoft. The company’s mobile platform grew by 13% quarter-to-quarter despite what appears to be a still-insignificant total market share.
