Locaid Touts New Multi-State Geolocation Compliance API

Locaid Touts New Multi-State Geolocation Compliance APIAs our sister site mGamingWatch reported in recent days, the states of Nevada and Delaware forged a groundbreaking interstate online gambling agreement.

As two of just three states to have legalized online gambling to date, the governors of Nevada and Delaware have reached an agreement allowing residents in those states to play against one another inside of virtual poker rooms.

In response to this historic pact, Locaid, the world’s largest Location-as-a-Service (LaaS) company, announced a geolocation and gaming industry first: general availability of a multi-state geolocation compliance API for Delaware and Nevada.

The Locaid Compliance API allows gaming operators to comply with the landmark Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement signed on February 25 by Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada and Gov. Jack Markell of Delaware.

The Locaid Compliance API works with Locaid’s massive mobile and connected device reach and accuracy and is currently the preferred location solution for nearly all of the gaming applications approved for wagering in Nevada and Delware.

“Locaid delivers mobile compliance technology that ultimately enabled the first interstate online poker deal in U.S. history,” said Rip Gerber, President and CEO of Locaid. “We have been plumbing the mobile location systems with carriers, operators and regulators for years to reach this landmark accord, and we congratulate Nevada and Delaware in delivering a secure, customer-friendly geolocation compliance approach that can cross state lines. We look forward to working with additional state regulatory teams and gaming operators as they onboard this year. And if New Jersey joins the pact, our location service currently deployed in the Garden State will seamlessly integrate.”
